This shot fills an entire page in one of our recent catalogs.
Kate Spade makes some great-looking items for your home.
Today's market is loaded with parity products. Usually it's the little details that set you apart from your competition. The secret is bringing those tiny differences to life.
Pens are always difficult because of their size, shape, and reflective nature. This shot was an especially fun challenge because it was intended to be a full two-page spread in the PenLuxe Gift Giving Catalog. It turned out nicely.
This is my original photo. Below is the final email.
I wrote the copy for this email as well.
This image was fun because it isn't what it seems. Our company had borrowed a very upscale home for most of the photos that went in this catalog, but this shoe bench had not arrived at the time of that shoot. I had to create a similar feel in my tiny studio at work. The flooring is assembled on top of a desk in my studio. The wall is seamless paper, and the base board is leftover from a project I did with my dad. It was great to get the product higher so I could shoot it more comfortably.
